Love is the hunger, love is the food.
Love is the dream, love is the sooth.
It's a couplet that doesn't rhyme
With you, love isn't what I need and find
It's selfish, it's raw,
It’s marred by flaws.
It yearns and longs,
barefacedly it creeps and crawls.
It's the punishment and the crime,
with you, it's the love that's never kind
It's the greed that asks
It's the pretense that's unmasked
It's the lust that feeds
It's the anger that breeds
Love is the master, love is the slave.
Love is what we asked for, love is what we gave.
